Dr. Julia A. Shalit
At The Fishers Dentist our staff members were hand picked by Dr. Julia Shalit. These wonderful women were chosen for their high level of dental training and experience, and their ability to deliver premier customer service.
Dr. Julia Alex Shalit earned her dental degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry, where she graduated in the top 10% of her class. She has done postgraduate research in the area of Planned Genetics, and was asked to serve part-time on the faculty while still a student. She has also done research for the Oral Health Institute on the use of lasers in the early detection of cavities. Dr. Shalit has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Purdue University.

Dr. Julia has been dedicated to excellence and lifelong learning for her entire career as a dentist. She has completed postgraduate studies and courses in:
- aesthetic/cosmetic dentistry
- the use of porcelain veneers
- Invisalign system of invisible braces
- laser dentistry, allowing her to use modern dental lasers to treat both tooth decay and perform gum surgery, often without the need for shots of drilling.
She is constantly evaluating technology for items, which can make your family’s dental procedures less invasive and less painful.
Dr. Julia and her husband, Felix, have on beautiful child, Alec. In her spare time, Dr. Shalit enjoys painting, dancing and playing the piano.

Andera Overla - Dental Hygienist
Hello, my name is Andrea Overla and I am the dental hygienist at Pearly White Smiles. I have been with Dr. Shalit since February of 2007. I have enjoyed working with Dr. Julia to improve the dental standards of the Fishers and Indianapolis communities.
I graduated from Indiana University-Purdue University where I earned my degree in the Science of Dental Hygiene in 2004. I frequently attend continuing education courses to stay updated on new methods to provide each patient the highest standard of cleaning, comfort, and care.
My recreational activities include traveling, spending time with family, friends, my fiancé Justin and puppy–Lexy. I have voluntarily taken upon myself a personal reasonability for every patient that I see, and through this I am able to share with them the knowledge I have received to ensure they have the education, technology, and proper dental care in order to have healthy teeth and gums for life.
Lora Syrkin - Administrative Assistant
Hello, my name is Lora Syrkin, and I am the business administrative assistant here at Pearly White Smiles. I have been with Dr. Julia Shalit DDS ever since she opened her wonderful office in Fishers IN.
My main goals are to help each patient enjoy their experience and to develop long-term relationships with each one of them.
I reside in Fishers Indiana, very close to the office, with my husband. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my family and friends.
Erin Blankership - Accounts Manager
Hi, my name is Erin Blankenship and I am the scheduling coordinator/ patient accounts manager at Pearly White Smiles. I have been with Dr. Shalit since this summer and love being in such a great office. My main responsibility is to manage the schedule so that patients are seen in a timely manner and to work with patients’ busy and demanding schedules. Because insurance can be confusing, I am also available to answer any billing or insurance questions patients might have.
I graduated from Penn Foster Career School with a certificate in medical coding and billing. I am also taking EMT classes through the Community Health Network. In my spare time, I love reading good mysteries and spending time with my family.
Christine Suhre - Expanded Duties Assistant
Hello!! My name is Christine Suhre, Dr. Julia’s expanded duties dental assistant. I have been with Dr. Julia at Pearly White Smiles since January 2007. I graduated from Dental Careers Foundation in Nov. of 2004 where I received my dental assistant certification. I received my Expanded Duties Certification at DOT in Sept. of 2007.
Outside of work, I enjoy doing anything that has to do with hanging out with my friends, family, and my dog Niko. Something that makes my patients laugh is that I work in the dental field, but I still do not I like going to the dentist. I can sympathize with those patients who are afraid because until I met Dr. Julia and realized just how caring and gentle she is I would never sit down in a dental chair myself. I hope you decide to come on in with your family and let us become a part of your life!
